Our Rotary Club

The Rotary Club of Lexington Park is a proud part of the Southern Maryland community and of Rotary International. Rotary is a global network of more than 1.2 million members who believe that great things happen when dedicated minds come together. We are community and business leaders representing different professions, experiences, and perspectives with a shared desire to connect with others to address the challenges affecting our community and communities around the world.

Our club offers opportunities for our members — and those interested in making a difference — to get involved. Through our US National Oyster Festival, we raise more than $100,000 for community service efforts including funds to help start up Feed St. Mary's Food Bank, donations to Lexington Park Health Connections to support mental health, a donation to the St. Mary’s Caring Soup Kitchen, and contributions to local organizations that combat food insecurity and homelessness.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Solving real problems takes real effort, commitment, and vision. Rotarians work to protect communities from preventable disease, keep women and children healthy, improve education and economic outcomes, create safe water and sanitation infrastructure, and make our community and the world a more peaceful place.

GET INVOLVED

Becoming a member enables you to meet your community’s leaders and to make an impact both here and around the world. We invite you to visit our club and find out more about us and the opportunities we offer to get involved.

The Four-Way Test

This simple philosophy was adopted by Rotary in 1943

Of the things we think, say or do:

Is it the TRUTH?

Is it FAIR to all concerned?

Will it build GOODWILL and

BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

What we do

Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Our more than 45,000 clubs work together to:

Promote peace

Fight disease

Provide clean water, sanitation, and hygiene

Save mothers and children

Support education

Grow local economies

Protect the environment

Get involved

OUR MISSION

We provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.

VISION STATEMENT

Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.

OUR ONGOING COMMITMENT

That commitment endures today through an organization that remains truly international. Only 16 years after being founded, Rotary had clubs on six continents. Our members now span the globe, working to solve some of our world’s most challenging problems.

We’re not afraid to dream big and set bold goals. We began our fight against polio in 1979 with a project to immunize 6 million children in the Philippines.

Today, polio remains endemic in only two countries — down from 125 in 1988.

What impact can one donation have?

For as little as 60 cents, a child can be protected from polio.

$50 can provide clean water to help fight waterborne illness.

$500 can launch an anti-bullying campaign and create a safe environment for children.
